Belfast 1916 Heritage Trail

Belfast 1916 Heritage Trail

1916 and the Easter Rising changed Irish History, whilst the main events and the executions were centred in and around Dublin the full part played by those from Belfast has never fully been recognised until now.

This heritage trail uncovers the story and recognises the roles of many individuals from Belfast who played their part in organising one of the most historic events of the 20th century when a small group of Irish rebels took on the British Empire.

15 granite plaques have been commissioned and erected throughout the city that uncovers Belfast’s hidden heritage and showcases this seminal moment in the history of our city.
